2019 NSW SoY, JSoY and Blue Jacket of the Year Awards


To honor meritorious service and recognize outstanding achievers in NSW, the Navy SEAL Foundation provides an award to all NSW service members who achieve the title(s) of Sailor the Year, Junior Sailor of the Year, and Blue Jacket of the Year. 

Each Command may designate awardees for Sailor of the Year (up to 2 awards for 1 SEAL or SWCC and 1 Combat Enabler), Junior Sailor of the Year (up to 2 awards for 1 SEAL or SWCC and 1 Combat Enabler) and 1 Blue Jacket Award, all receiving a $500 gift card. Awards will be available at a Navy SEAL Foundation office (on respective coasts) for a command representative to pick up during the month of December. NSW Commands not located in Virginia Beach or on Coronado will be asked to provide a mailing address for the award(s) to be sent to. 

This form should be completed by a member of the command triad, or one of their direct reports.

Award Recipients

Awards are given to Active Duty NSW Members and Activated Reservists  who have received one of the following command honors:

Sailor of the Year (up to 2 per command):
  • Sailor of the Year (SOY) for a SEAL or SWCC
  • Sailor of the Year (SOY) for Combat Enabler
Junior Sailor of the Year (up to 2 per command)
  • Junior Sailor of the Year (JSOY) for a SEAL or SWCC 
  • Junior Sailor of the Year (JSOY) for Combat Enabler
Bluejacket of the Year (1 per command) 
  • Blue Jacket of the Year

You can select as many (or as few) as needed.
